Shamanic Journeying

Meet yourself, your guides, and the world around you

Shamanic Journeying is a term for learning, with the help of a guide, new things about yourself, opening to new possibilities, and healing old wounds. Typically it’s done through altered or trance states, but these don’t always need to incorporate medicines or substances.

Before I knew what it was called, I was practicing Adventurer Shamanism, a type of connecting with other dimensions, other worlds, through excitement, fun, and a sense of inquisitiveness instead of the more traditionally known Warrior Shamanism. In Warrior Shamanism the thought is that there’s something to battle, something to conquer.

I work by guiding each individual through vivid meditations, diving in myself with you, to see what messages come forth, what roadblocks are in the way, and find ways to transform the most frightening of images into something softer, something playful, that we can interact with and learn from.

Shamanic journeys can help us reach new levels of our subconscious where we’ve buried things we no longer wish to see and feel. They can give us the strength to achieve more by connecting us to a power animal we can turn to in times of need. They can allow us to peel back the layers of lipstick and pretty imagery we’ve painted our existence with so we can connect to reality and learn the amazing potential it offers us, to experience all of what life has to offer.

What To Expect

Journeys should be treated as a sacred event. Depending on the goals, preferred outcomes, intentions, and current circumstances, Shamanic Journeys may incorporate guided meditations, rhythmic drumming, breathwork, and in some instances, work with death and rebirth. Each person is different and each journey is unique to that person in that moment.

Process

N

prepare ahead of time by being mindful of what you're putting in and around your body, making sure to get enough rest, and spending time in nature.

N

SET YOUR INTENTIONS FOR YOUR JOURNEY, AND BE SPECIFIC. Think of your intention like a map. the less passion behind your intention, the less detail on the map, making it harder to get to where you're trying to go.

N

enter with an open mind. Though it's important to set your intention, it's also important to be open to what the universe is ready to show you. trust in the greater power and you will always be pleasantly surprised.

N

Make sure to be in a place you feel comfortable. Have snacks, hydration, and a pad & paper with you, ready for when your journey is complete.

N

The integration of a Shamanic Journey may not be immediate, in fact it likely won't. Generally the teachings of the journey continue throughout the weeks, and sometimes months, to follow. Trust me, this is preferable. It's the equivalent to learning an entire textbook for a final exam the next day vs sitting through a course for a year to learn it in digestible bits.
